Yamas: Brahmacharya, Zoom Recording | OD

January Yamas Deep Dive: Brahmacharya – the right use of energy.

Service Description

https://youtu.be/4I_90kP5xIk This is the 4th video in a special deep-dive into the Yamas - yoga's ethical codes, and the first limb of yoga's 8-limbed path. Brahmacharya is the Sanskrit word for pure conduct and is often said to mean celibacy or abstaining from something. For modern yoga students it can mean the right use of energy. In this hour-long practice we begin meditating on the importance of observing our energy level and setting boundaries. This practice incorporates journaling prompts from Kelley Nicole Palmer's book "Manifest", a meditation based around a quote by Thích Nhất Hạnh, and an asana practice that incorporates a few cues from a class I took with Jessica Quindel, a friend and colleague.
