A balance-forward class + svadhyaya practice of "what am I embodying?"
https://youtu.be/mI2ki431zvE Class opens with the questions "what am I embodying?" and "what do I want to embody?", giving us time to practice svadhyaya (self-inquiry). We center our breath by calling in a passage from adrienne maree brown's "Emergent Strategy". The asana are balance-forward, taking us through a few flows to warm up the body, to root into our intention and embodiment of that intention. We explore stepping back into lunges, ardha ustrasana (half-camel pose), and a variation of a side plank balance. Class closes with a call back to our breath, and the opening passage from "Emergent Strategy".
